A photo never lies
For me, photography is a way of capturing the spectrum of authentic human emotion and beauty. A photo holds a special power in the way it reveals the joy of a new bride, the innocence of a young child, or the wanderlust of a traveler in a foreign land.
Early Life: A Self-Portrait
When I was ten years old, I inherited my brother’s Kodak camera after he passed away. Since then, nothing could tear me away from photography. I eagerly snapped photos of family and friends and managed to buy seemingly infinite amounts of film and prints despite my family’s limited means. My teacher discouraged me from taking my small, though high-caliber camera to class, but I insisted.
My diligence at taking pictures would eventually pay off. One day, my sister asked me to take photos of her wedding when I was thirteen years old. I was both elated and all nerves; it seemed an intimidating task but it was a priceless opportunity to freeze in time those unforgettable moments. Thanks to those photos, my loved ones can always reflect upon the hectic happiness of that festive day.
Growing up in Jordan eventually led me to a life surrounded by nature. Designing hiking trails and traveling internationally afforded me the opportunity to see the world in both the local and the global sense. I later gained access to some of the best lenses, cameras, and professional mentors that one could ask for.
